Gather for Third Year: Honored this year were legends Nick
Icorn, "Keeper of the Flame" and Robert Croft, legendary breath
holder (freediver). A new spirit also was in attendance as Keith
Cooper of UNEXSO promoted the next Legends of
Diving episode on Grand Bahama Island in April. Read the

August 10-12, 2007
Plenty of Smiles - Zale Parry finds new friends at the
quarry including Gwen and Tom Wyble of North Baltimore, OH. Tom
was first to dive with Zale that weekend and was the safety
diver for her friendship dive with guests of the Portage Quarry.
Zale Parry seeks revenge on the Creature of the Black Lagoon in
other photos.

The highlight of the weekend was the dive with Zale Parry, star of
movies and Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges. Divers came from afar for the
second annual event held at Portage Quarry.

First International Legends of
Diving
August 11-13, 2006
Flags of Our Fathers: One of the attractions for the
weekend was the Landing Vehicle, Tracked (LVT) in this series of
photos as it enters the quarry from the swimming beach. This LVT was used in the
filming of a fall release movie with Clint Eastwood called the
Flags of Our Fathers, a story of Iwo Jima. This is one of six
known LVTs in operation.

You Had to be There: Samuel
and Debborah Lecocq (center) met with guests in the
meet-and-greet Friday evening. Also pictured are quarry regulars
Tom Wyble, Tom and Linda Briggle.
Rob Studmicka was presented the grand prize by featured guests Sam Lecocq
and Dr. Sam Miller following the drawing of his ticket for the trip to
Belize, a $3,500 value.

Diver Above - Diver Below:
Divers from 17 different states gathered at the edge of Portage
Quarry. Maybe the long distance driving award goes to Fred
Morrison, Somt Familir Due Momont, Quebec, which is 400 miles
north of Montreal and 23 hours from the quarry. Tom and Cindy
Madere of LaPlace, LA might have the award for driving
the furthest from within the U.S.
